Two Cases of Neurilemmoma of the External Audiotory Canal




Abstract
The neurilemmoma is a relatively uncommon benign tumor which is known to be originated from the schwann sheath of the nerve fibers. It is a solitary encapsulated and slowly growing tumor. Most frequently, it is originated from the acoustic nerve.
Neurilemmoma arising from the external auditory canal is extremly are.
Recently, the authors experienced two cases of neurilemmoma of the external auditory canal. The tumor was removed completely and verified histopathologically as neurilemmoma. (Korean J Otolaryngol1 39 : 5, 1996)
